What We Provide
Guidance and Comfort for Families
From heartfelt advice to essential care packages, we're here to brighten families hospital journey. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we craft consistent care packages for hospital staff to share with families in need including Birthday Bags, Parent Self-Care Packs and special Pillow Pals. Additionally, we proudly serve as an advice hub, providing parents a supportive resource across all areas where guidance may be sought. Providing normality to families is the very heart of what we do.
Support & Advice
We're here to support families during long hospital stays. Our community offers a space to discuss issues and find information on charities, organizations, and government benefits. Our support directory was born out of our own experiences, understanding the frustration of searching online without clarity on what these organisations offer and if we met their criteria. We provide support in managing finances, mental health & practical advice for life in hospital.
Bringing Comfort to Families in Hospital
At Louie’s, we work closely with hospital staff and draw on our own experiences to create care packages filled with essentials that truly make a difference. We understand the challenges families face, both children and parents ,during what can be an overwhelming time.

Children's Essentials
Our Children’s Essentials Pack is designed to support families during unexpected hospital stays. Many parents arrive at A&E unprepared, leaving their children without the basics they need for comfort.
Each pack includes cozy pyjamas, snug socks, a comforting toy, and a soft blanket, providing warmth, reassurance, and a little sense of normality during a challenging time. Every item is chosen to help children feel safe, cared for, and supported while in hospital.
Parent Self Care Packs
Packed with essentials, self-care treats, and snacks, our Parents’ Care Pack is designed to support families throughout their hospital journey. Every item is carefully chosen to help parents care for themselves while caring for their child,
Each pack includes shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush and toothpaste, soap and body wash, a wash cloth or body puff, a hair brush and hair bobbles, bottled water and snacks, coffee sachets, sanitary products, an adaptable phone charger, and our new reusable branded coffee cup that changes colour with hot or cold liquids.
Donated & Preloved Goods
We happily welcome both new and preloved toys, books, and clothing to support the families we work with. To ensure the best experience for everyone, we ask that donated items are in good condition and cleaned before being shared. At Louie’s Trust, sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Embracing preloved items helps families declutter, spreads love, and supports the environment.
Before being given to families, all items are carefully checked for quality and fitted with fresh batteries where needed. For infection control reasons, we are unfortunately unable to donate preloved items to intensive care units.Visit our Ways To Donate page for further details.
Pillow Pals
We collaborate with the incredible intensive care staff to provide comfort to children on their recovery journey through Louie's Pillow Pals. These delightful soft toys, lovingly named by the children, become a part of their recovery. We invite parents to share their experiences of how these cuddly pals have made a positive impact on their journey. 🐻💕Our Pillow Pals go beyond being friends for children; they're designed to lend a helping paw in various ways. From propping up medical equipment like breathing tubes and IV lines to aiding in physiotherapy sessions, they're versatile companions that bring comfort and support to every part of a child's journey to recovery.
Christmas Eve boxes
Christmas Eve is such a special time for families and being in hospital shouldn't mean they miss out on getting into the Christmas sprit, waiting for Santa Claus to bring them wonderful gifts.
